So, my body naturally runs hot, and my skin is constantly warm, especially during summer. I sweat profusely and I don’t know how Korean people do it but my makeup ends up melting to the point where it feels like I’ve caked myself but trust me I don’t wear enough makeup for it to be considered cakey. Their makeup looks perfect even though the heat and masks… Dilemma! I’ve used the ampoule and found it was cooling but not cooling enough before my makeup routine. Then I saw the pads and I’m like this might cool my skin down if I leave the pads on my face for at least 5mins? Well, I might as well try, and I did! It did not disappoint.
I used 3 pads for my face. One for each cheek and the 3rd one I ripped it in half and place it on my nose and the other half on my chin. I recommend scissors for this as it’s made from 100% cotton, and it took all my strength to rip it. Warning though it does have the stinging sensation, especially where the pads hit near your eyes. I tried to leave it on for 5mins, but the effect was so strong I think I left it on for 3mins top! Took the pads off and my face was still tingling, I gently pat what was left and waited for my face to dry, my skin was still tingling after 10mins, so I ended up using my handheld fan and it cooled my skin down even further. Although it stings, I loved it! My makeup stayed on though not perfect, but it did settle better into my skin and lasted longer throughout the day. Will definitely
How to Use
1 – Cleanse your face
2 – Using the soft side of the pad to wipe the entire face. Alternatively, if you would like to do the pad mask, place 1 pad on each cheek and cut the third pad in half. Half is placed on the nose and the other half on your chin. Remove after 5mins.
3 – Then wipe your face again with the embossed (bumpy) side of the pad.
4 – Use leftover essence on the pad for your neck and shoulders.
Pros & Cons
- Strong menthol and stinging sensation – I believe that anything stinging means that its working so I didn’t mind it, but some people might think that its overwhelming or too much. Like I mentioned it’s probably best if you patch test, it first.
- Cooling – very cooling like I’m so surprised it’s cooling!
Where to Buy
Final Verdict: 9.25/10
Application : 10/10
Menthology has plenty of other products and they are all and I mean ALL are targeted towards people with heated skin. Now you don’t have to have ‘heated skin’ to use these products as most people naturally will have a higher temperature when they are tired, stressed, or even just out in the sun for long periods.
